I really enjoyed it. It was so sensitive that it could across the room in the nursery and still hear when my baby woke up and began talking to himself. We had no problems with static. However: the parent unit is running from batteries like crazy, if not plugged in, we used this for about a year to work until my two years of age, the baby unit in the water and it stopped.
